How Long Will the Immunity From COVID-19 Last?
Due to possibly having remnants of the COVID-19 virus in the gut long after infection, study participants’ antibodies to COVID-19 continue to improve for months. This means that people are likely to be protected against the virus for 6 months, but probably much longer. The body creates memory B cells, which recognize the virus and quickly mount a defense, should there be reinfection.
